I remember as a kid going to the grand opening of, what I believe, was the first Toys R Us in Colorado. To be fair though, I was like 5 so it could have just been the first one I went to. It was in Westminster, Colorado, by the former Westminster Mall (miss that Mall). Geoffrey the Giraffe was there and the whole nine, it was quite the ordeal. Fast forward to 2018 and all of the sudden, the biggest toy store chain in the world was calling it a day and millions lost a small, or huge part of their childhood. I remember taking my son there with my dad and brother to say "goodbye" to a place that provided so many amazing memories as a child. I have more memories from Toys R Us in Westminster than maybe anything else in my young childhood and I was crushed that my son was too young to remember any of it. Well, until now anyway.

As part of an expanded partnership with Macy's, it was announced Toys R Us will be just about everywhere just in time for the holiday season. Macy's gave the iconic toy brand an amazing new opportunity by opening shops within about 400 different Macy's as well as selling their products through their website. Now, it's been made official that Toys R Us will be opening in all Macy's stores beginning late July through mid-October. Sizes will range based on the actual store size but they're said to be anywhere from 1,000 square feet up to 10,000 square feet in some of Macy's larger flagship stores.

I'm certainly curious how the Centerra and Foothills locations incorporate the new version of Toys R Us and can not wait for their grand openings. I'm a "Toys R Us Kid" for life.
