For the past 15 years, comic book shops around the country celebrate the genre by offering free comic books to customers the first Saturday in May every year.

The day is called "Free Comic Book Day," and with comic book characters dominating the movies box office and taking over pop culture, now is a perfect time to dive into comic books for the first time, or reignite your passion.
