Something that has become a real point of concern in Colorado has been the rising rate of crime in the state.

The state has now peaked as the third most dangerous state in the entire country, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down either.

Not only that, but the state was also given a rare ‘F’ crime grade. In that study, the only state that rated worse was Arizona.

With this being said, the biggest thing giving Colorado these terrible marks has been our ridiculously high theft and larceny rates, which are second worst in the country.

It has gotten so bad, that a grocery store in Denver had to shut down because there was too much theft for the business to be sustainable.

In recent news, yet another theft has taken place in the state. This time, it involved a massive amount of meat.

$10K Worth of Meat Stolen From Denver Restaurant

Here in Colorado, there have been some meat thefts, but never to this level.

Recently, thieves got into a restaurant called Annette in Denver and wiped all the fridges clean.

Three people broke the lock and riffled through the fridges in these places, taking everything they had. According to CBS Colorado, it took four trips for the thieves to get all the meat.

The owner of Annette, Caroline Glover, said that the theft essentially cost them three full nights of service.

Fortunately, Donations Helped the Restaurant Stay in Tact

Glover went on to say that for many different restaurants, such an extensive theft would seriously jeopardize their business.

Luckily for her, her support for keeping slaughterhouses running in Colorado saved her quite a bit of trouble.

With the ballot measure to ban slaughterhouses coming up, Glover’s staunch opposition led to the extremely generous donation of 1,000 pounds of lamb from Denver’s only slaughterhouse, Superior Farms.

However, this has been an issue that’s been popping up for quite some time now in Colorado, and people are starting to get worried.

After the incident, Glover added many new locks and barred the doors to her fridge to deter any future thefts.
