The Widening of U.S. 34 In Loveland Delayed

It's needed and HAS been needed so badly for so long and it appears that we'll be waiting a little longer.

According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, the project to widen U.S. 34 in Loveland between Denver and Boyd Lake Avenues temporarily until the weather gets warmer and gets a little nicer.

The GOOD news is that the "unofficial" Colorado state flower, the orange barrel...all of those lovely pieces of art will be left alongside the road and speed limits will remain the same, at 40 mph. Warmer temps are needed before the paving can continue on the lanes and shoulders.

The work remaining for the first phase of the project, including the paving of the outside third lanes, the adding of sidewalks and median improvements is expected to be finished by early summer. (weather permitting)

Phase two of this project, will be the widening of U.S. 34 extending East of Boyd Lake Avenue to Rocky Mountain Avenue, which is already funded and currently in design.

Eventually, we'll have a nice wider and safer road to help ease traffic but until then, let's keep our patience, drive safely and enjoy those views whether it be the beautiful orange barrels or if you're heading West.on U.S.34....the majestic Rocky Mountains.
