The Spill Canvas, Slow Caves, and Places Back Home at The Moxi Theater [PHOTOS]

Last night, I saw The Spill Canvas for the first time since 2009, and when they kicked off the set with 'Reckless Abandonment,' they summoned all my aught-year high school emo feels. But I'm OK. 

Ironically, I think that was the last time that I wore colors -- multiple colors. It's a weird feeling to be 25 and standing in front of a band who, if your life had a soundtrack, would probably be featured on it. It's an interesting one, nevertheless.

The Spill Canvas came to the Moxi Theater as a stop on the west coast leg of their Requestour ('request' + 'tour'), where they let their fans make the set list.
