“The Motherload” of Twerk NSFW

Mastodon's "The Motherload"  has been named one of the 25 Best Videos of 2014.

Spin has compiled a list of The 25 Best Music Videos Of 2014 and coming in at Number 21 is Mastodon's "The Motherload". Well, I don't know if it's one of the best videos from last year, but it's certainly one of the most...unforgettable.

Have you seen this thing? Apparently (I don't know how I missed it) this video caused some controversy when it came out earlier this year (their intention, no doubt) and it's no mystery why.

If you somehow missed it, I'll sum it up for you. It starts out like any typical metal-genre video, with the band lip-syncing in a dark and creepy warehouse with lots of fake chains and hooded figures in occult-like scenarios. And then... ASS. Lots and lots of frenzied, twerking ass. There is (literally) a kaleidoscope of jiggling cheeks. You can't look away.

It's confusing. Is it supposed to be satirical? Ironic? Funny? This video is either totally brilliant, or seriously messed up.

Whatever it's meant to be, it's awesome.
