Thanks, COVID.

Due to everyone's favorite virus, Colorado State University's Lagoon Summer Concert Series is canceled for the summer of 2020.

CSU announced the news in a press release, stating that the event is unable to go on under Larimer County's current public health guidelines.

The series, which features local musicians performing all summer long at CSU's lagoon, is also produced by Mantooth Marketing & Events.

And, while this year's cancellation is disappointing, Mantooth is already looking forward to next year's event.

"Despite our sadness of not seeing the concert series happen this year, we are in full agreement with CSU and county guidelines to help the community stay safe and healthy," said Callie Hoppe, Mantooth's Event Director, in the press release. "We are now shifting our energy into bringing back the concert series in 2021 and making it better than ever!"

Until then, you can still check out some socially-distanced live music this year.

FoCoMX is organizing a drive-in concert series at the Holiday Twin, while Townsquare Media's Taste of Fort Collins is hosting a virtual performance, with local bands like Glass Cases and The Man Cubs, on July 24.
