You don’t HAVE to be horse crazy to love this movie from 1979. It was executive-produced by Francis Ford Coppola and was nominated for 2 Oscars. A young boy, Alec, survives a shipwreck and finds himself washed up on the shore of a desert island. His only company is a ‘wild’ Arabian stallion who Alec befriends. That’s when the magic begins. Watching the interaction between them as the play, swim, and bond is beyond amazing…

It’s my favorite movie and while it would be so easy to just pop in the DVD, I plan

on plopping myself on the sofa, in front of the big screen, and spending a couple of uninterrupted hours cheering, crying, laughing, and many other emotions.

The cast include Kelly Reno as Alec, Teri Garr, Mickey Rooney, and Cass Ole, a champion Arabian stallion, was featured in most of the movie’s scenes. Napoleon was portrayed by Junior, who previously appeared in National Lampoon’s Animal House as Trooper, Niedermeyer’s horse.
