The 1975 have been attacked by Welsh Member of Parliament David Davies for the band’s climate change activism. The British group recruited 16-year-old climate change activist Greta Thunberg for the track “The 1975,” which features Thunberg delivering a monologue over music.

Just two days ago (Aug. 28) Thunberg finished crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a zero-emissions yacht, arriving in New York City after 15 days at sea. Thunberg will soon speak at the UN Climate Action Summit, but MP Davies took aim at the 1975 for using carbon-based transport for their upcoming world tour.

“Given your concern about a ‘climate emergency,' I just wondered how you are going to get to these places? Are you traveling to Asia on the Trans-Siberian Express? Or will you be sailing in a £4m super-yacht like your mate Greta?” Davies wrote. “Preach on the evils of carbon emissions one minute — then jet across the globe the next!”

Despite getting ratioed to hell, Davies’ tweet hasn’t received a response from the 1975 yet, but band manager Jamie Oborne responded this morning (Aug. 30):

So Parliament is suspended at the most important time in modern UK politics and the most pressing issue on this clowns mind is looking for clout on Twitter. Enjoy your 5 minutes. @UKGovWales @GOVUK is this really the best we have?! I can feel a change coming and it feels good.

Climate change news has been on heavy rotation following wildfires in the Amazon and the Arctic. As for Greta Thunberg, she will speak to the U.N. on Sept. 23. Listen to her speech on “The 1975” below.
