Happy first day of summer! Unlike last week, it actually feels more like spring as we start off Monday with temps in the 60s and 70s in the Fort Collins area. The heat will be back by Tuesday, so don't get too comfortable with the AC off just yet.

According to the National Weather Service, following a cool Monday, Tuesday is expected to warm back up into the high 90s, with no chance of an afternoon storm. Wednesday is also expected to get close to 100 degrees without any relief from a rain storm. Thursday, there's a chance of thunderstorms and a high of 92 degrees.

By Friday however, we'll cool off once again. Right now, the National Weather Service shows a high in the upper 70s for the end of the week, with a  chance of afternoon showers lasting into the evening.

That dip in temps will also stick around for the weekend, with the forecast showing a high of 80 on Saturday, and a high in the mid 80s for Sunday. After last week's heatwave, we'll take it. You can see the full week's forecast from the National Weather Service here.

Last week, Colorado reached record-high temps along the Front Range. Fort Collins and Loveland reported a high of 103 degrees, and Greeley reported reaching 104 degrees. Denver International Airport also reported a three-day streak of 100-degree highs, which doesn't happen very often.

As of right now, the forecast for the 4th of July shows a high of 92 degrees with the chance of an afternoon storm, though we all know that is subject to change.
