Taste of Fort Collins 2021 had quite the wrap up to the long-awaited return of the festival. From a Disney cover band based out of Denver to a performer's second time on stage, everyone kept our sold out crowd's energy up and ready for our much anticipated headliner: Nelly.

Michael Morrow & The Culprits delivered on their bluesy rock sound and the hard rock soul in their music kept the crowd on their feet. They led perfectly into the later part of the afternoon for local top-voted artist Joe Suburb.

Joe Suburb was the highest voted band in the local entertainment contest that took place before this year's Taste of Fort Collins. Their punk sound and energy proved the inspiration they pull from being hyper local to Fort Collins.

Foco Flava was hot on the stage, and I don't doubt that everyone was wondering how they were able to dance just that well with how hot the day was. That just proves the performers they are - high energy hip-hop jam no matter the weather.

The energy brought by Foco Flava carried right over and through almost monday's electrifying indie pop set. The crowd was engaged, loving them, and for the San Diego based band, it had to be cool to see the crowd catching on and singing along to their best hits.

One of the coolest artists to watch was JD Music who performed for just his second time as the second to last act before Nelly took the stage. He had quite the crowd in front of him and had them right there with him for his entire rap set. And in the crowd, JD's mom who flew in from Nashville just to watch him perform.

As confirmation of how little I can dance, Studio West Dance Center took the stage about an hour before Nelly. These young dancers got down, showed us all how it's done, and got the energy right where it needed to be for Nelly.

The moment everyone was waiting for: Nelly. With a crowd packed from the main stage all the way back to the intersection of LaPorte and Howes, it was an absolute party to sign off the weekend. With Nelly performing his own hits, as well as tributes to his biggest influences like B.o.B and Dr. Dre, there was a song for everyone. It's no surprise that Nelly had the whole crowd in the palm of his hand for the perfect end to Taste of Fort Collins 2021.
