Today (Oct. 9) would have been John Lennon's 72nd birthday, and with it comes the publication of a new book, 'The John Lennon Letters.' the publication contains nearly 300 letters written by Lennon during his lifetime, giving an unfiltered and uncensored look at one of the most written-about figures of the past 50 years.

Paul McCartney is ramping up to the 'Live Kisses' DVD release by showcasing one of the standout tracks from the release, 'I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter.'

In February, Paul McCartney released 'Kisses on the Bottom,' a jazzy collection of songs and standards that influenced the former Beatle as a young boy. To kick off that release he filmed a 13-song concert at the Capitol Studios in Los Angeles and streamed it to fans worldwide. That star-studded show will soon be available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Paul McCartney's world tour will swing back through North America this fall, with the singer announcing four new dates for November, including two in the U.S. His show in St. Louis, Mo. on Nov. 11 will be his first in that city in a decade. He hasn't played Houston, Texas (Nov. 14) in seven years.

Today we learned of one such case when we saw the news that the French government has awarded the Legion of Honor to a little-known singer from Liverpool, England, Sir Paul McCartney.

With the London Olympics winding down after his tremendous (if underpaid) performance, former Beatles legend Paul McCartney is bringing his Feb. 9 performance of his 2012 album ‘Kisses On The Bottom’ at Capitol Studios to PBS. The special will air Sept. 7 on PBS’ ‘Great Performances.’
