Machine Head are making progress on their new record and would like to share some new music sooner than later. As such, they're giving fans a glimpse inside the studio in what will be a series of production blog videos and arranging for a special Record Store Day release.

Avenged Sevenfold released their sixth studio album, 'Hail to the King,' on Aug. 23. Although the act's fans have been eating up the album, Avenged Sevenfold have been met by various detractors as well, including Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn. Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows responded to Flynn's criticism a short while ago, and now, guitarist Zacky Vengeance has done the same.

Machine Head have left their longtime label Roadrunner Records to sign with Nuclear Blast Entertainment, and will unleash their next album in 2014.

Machine Head are working on new music, but it's a steady pace as the band has yet to name their replacement for longtime bassist Adam Duce. Frontman Robb Flynn spoke at length about their current progress in his latest online journal entry and also revealed that the search for a new bassist has been narrowed to eight.

Machine Head are getting closer to rounding out their lineup for their summer's Mayhem Festival. The group revealed that they've completed the submission process to fill their vacant bassist slot and are taking the next step.

Machine Head are anxious for the 2013 Mayhem Festival and have added some extra touring to get them in the right mindset. In a new posting the band has revealed they will play three headlining shows as part of 'The Road to Mayhem Tour.'

A milestone just passed in Machine Head's career, as guitarist Phil Demmel just surpassed a decade as a member of the band. As such, his bandmates have chimed in with congratulations and recollections of their time spent rocking together.

It's not uncommon for musicians to have admiration for their peers, but Machine Head's Robb Flynn recently heaped some praise on Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe that had very little to do with his musical ability.

No doubt Machine Head have had massive amounts of success with their 2011 album ‘Locust,' but now they are starting to plot out their next disc.
