It's been six years since we've had a new album from Slipknot, and I personally wondered if it would ever happen. Well, it's been a good month for Slipknot fans like myself, and especially a good day!
Colorado got to taste Mayhem Fest 2014 on Monday (July 14), and we were supposed to go get to hang out with the guys from Korn before the show, but circumstances didn't work out, so we waited a couple days and sat down to talk to Korn's drummer Ray Luzier.
There aren't too many metal shows at the world's best venue to see a concert, Red Rocks. I get it, rockers like to move, they like to run into each other, they like to crowd surf, and Red Rocks just isn't the place for it. However, for one night it was badass to see the best bands in metal on the Red Rocks stage.
Concert season is now in full force in Colorado. There are so many great shows coming our way this summer, it is hard to keep track of them all, but one that no one is forgetting is just a week away now... Mayhem Fest!
Last night (May 19), Korn guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch was admitted to a Russian hospital. The health scare forced Welch to drop out of Korn's gig with Soulfly in Krasnoyarsk and the guitarist will remain hospitalized for "a few days" and will miss an unknown number of upcoming gigs.
Slipknot had such an enjoyable time playing 2013's Ozzfest in Japan that they took a page out of the book and relocated Knotfest to Japan for 2014. The second staging of the Slipknot-organized event will take place Nov. 15 and 16 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Tokyo and the first two acts joining Slipknot have been revealed.
