It's Friday afternoon and I-25 is more congested than normal. It seems a vehicle driving down the wrong way of the HOV lanes has collided head-on with another shutting down I-25 traffic.
While I was in the mountains last weekend, as the snow started to fall, I got a little anxious about whether I would make it home in time to cover the morning show on Monday. Then I heard about a pileup on I-25 involving over a hundred vehicles, and my heart sank even more.
This week the Colorado Department of Transportation will be closing northbound and southbound I-25 at HWY 392/Windsor Exit each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Most folks, including myself, who live near, or have to commute near the Highway 392 ramp over I-25 have probably gotten used to dealing with delays and an overall mess. It's been over a month now since construction started to make the whole area more convenient to pass through in the future.
