Whether heading back home or going away somewhere to relax, lots of people will be traveling over the next few weeks as the holiday season approaches. With all that Colorado has to offer, we're definitely used to plenty of tourists visiting our state, but this year, one city in particular has ranked as being one top 10 holiday destinations for U.S. travelers.

Over the next few weeks, many people will be weaving their way through crowded airports, traveling to different destinations all across the country for the Thanksgiving and the holidays.

It's the unofficial first day of summer, a day to remember those we lost, and for a lot of folks an extra day tacked on to the end of the weekend allowing us to travel. Whether it be to go visit friends or family, or just a quick weekend getaway, AAA projects 34.8 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Are you traveling?

Bad news for holiday travelers. Unless we see an unexpected steep drop in crude prices, American motorists can expect to see gas prices exceeding $3 per gallon if they're not there already. As of last Friday, the national average price for a gallon of self-serve unleaded was at $2.91, an increase of around 4 cents a gallon from just two weeks ago.
