The Cameron Peak Fire has exceeded 16,000 acres burned to the west of Fort Collins, resulting in heavy smoke and visible ash within city limits. Here's how the wildfire compares to the High Park Fire in Northern Colorado in 2012.

If you've been up Rist Canyon, you've seen it. So, what's the deal with that old van covered in graffiti that's been sitting in a field for years?

It was June 9, 2012 that the High Park Fire was started by lightning in the mountains west of Fort Collins. It was the 2nd largest fire in Colorado history.

The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is holding a special public forum on January 15, 2015 that will look back at the fire and to the future of fire in our community.

When you think of Fort Collins, you think of craft beer. Even if you don't drink beer and you think of Fort Collins, you still think of craft beer. It's a big part of our community and some local breweries are teaming up to build a Habitat For Humanity home in town for a family that lost their home last summer in the High Park Fire.

Sunday, June 9th, 2013 marked the one-year anniversary of the High Park Fire West of Fort Collins. I'll never forget. Over 80 thousand Acres were burned by the massive blaze. Over 260 homes were lost. One person lost their life.

Last night was not a good night for fighting the High Park Fire. According to the Coloradoan, a number of homes were lost last night, the fire grew another 2,000 acres or so, more evacuations were ordered and containment fell from 60% to 45%.
