Dream Theater

Dream Theater experienced a drastic shift in 2010 when drummer Mike Portnoy announced his departure from the legendary band. Portnoy's plan was to take a temporary break from Dream Theater, but the group chose to cut all ties with their longtime drummer. Despite the drama, Portnoy has just revealed that he would rejoin Dream Theater "in a heartbeat."

At the beginning of June, Dream Theater revealed that their new disc will be self-titled with a release date set for Sept. 24.

It's a new year and Dream Theater isn't wasting any time getting back to work. Guitarist John Petrucci has checked in online with a photo update, showing off the band's studio and suggesting that recording is about to commence with the caption, "Let the fun begin …"
