Avenged Sevenfold have just announced the North American 'Shepherd of Fire Tour' for spring 2014. With a trip across the continent that will last just over a month, Avenged will begin their run on April 12 and conclude the tour on May 17 with a headlining set at the Rock on the Range Festival. Hellyeah will provide direct support on A7X's headlining dates.

There are a few touring festivals that I anxiously wait for every summer. One of those tours that always seems to deliver is the "Rockstar Mayhem Festival." Although the promoters for the festival usually keep the participants very tight lipped until they are ready to announce them, it seems we have been treated to an early announcement this year.

After a successful inaugural Rise Above Fest in 2012, Seether are bringing the event to a new venue in 2014. This year, Avenged Sevenfold will be the headliners for the May 10 festival in Bangor, Maine. Seether will of course be on the bill, as will Motorhead, Hellyeah, Trivium, Kyng, Devour the Day, Black Stone Cherry, Muckler's Circle and Skindred.

Avenged Sevenfold will join a star-studded lineup at the 5th Annual 'Duffing for Dollars' charity golf tournament next month in Mission Viejo, Calif. Avenged Sevenfold have just released their 'Hail to the King' animated series along with a trailer for the band's 'Hail to the King: Deathbat' mobile video game. The cartoon series consists of six episodes animated by 'Metalocalypse' director and co-producer Jon Schnepp, while the mobile video game emulates the classic "beat 'em up" style of classic console games.

2013 may be winding down, but things are as busy as ever for the guys in Avenged Sevenfold. Frontman M. Shadows just checked in with fans online and revealed that they will also soon release their 'Hail to the King' animated series and mobile game.

Despite the success of their latest album, ‘Hail to the King,’ which arrived on Aug. 23, Avenged Sevenfold have had to deal with their fair share of detractors, including some trash talk from their peers in the metal world. Most notably, Machine Head’s Robb Flynn a very public dig at A7X, criticizing the band’s authenticity referring to their latest offering as a “covers album.”

Avenged Sevenfold are taking fans straight to hell and back in their new fiery video for the song ‘Shepherd of Fire.’ The track, from Avenged Sevenfold’s 2013 release ‘Hail to the King,’ was also included in the ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ video game series as part of the DLC ‘Apocalypse,’ giving fans a good idea of the tone and direction of the song and subsequently, the new video.

The first batch of 2014 performers has been released for the Download Festival, one of Europe's biggest music gatherings. The three day extravaganza will be held June 13-15 at England's Donington Park, and some heavy hitters in rock and metal are slated to perform.

Disturbed / Device singer David Draiman has just announced that Device will bow out of Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch's upcoming European tour. Draiman noted that the decision was made so the singer could spend time with his family and newborn son.

Avenged Sevenfold released their sixth studio album, 'Hail to the King,' on Aug. 23. Although the act's fans have been eating up the album, Avenged Sevenfold have been met by various detractors as well, including Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn. Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows responded to Flynn's criticism a short while ago, and now, guitarist Zacky Vengeance has done the same.
