Spice Up the Season with these Five Fall-Inspired NoCo Beers
The early return of pumpkin spice lattes had people pretty excited, and now it's time for the release of even more seasonal brews — autumn-inspired beer. Breweries in Northern Colorado are always experimenting and coming up with unique hops-filled creations. The summer months had us sipping light and fruity beer to quench our thirst, and while the onset of autumn does inspire brewers to use lots of pumpkin and spice, these beers will leave you feeling a different kind of toasty than that Venti latte. Cheers!
Country Pumpkin - City Star Brewing (Berthoud)
This beer definitely gives a toast to fall flavors. At 6.5% ABV, Country Pumpkin is a harvest ale brewed with cinnamon, pumpkin, ginger, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and aged on Madagascar vanilla beans. Look out for its release date (and party at City Star) on Saturday, September 29.
Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin Ale - New Belgium (Fort Collins)
This spicy pumpkin drink is anything but basic! Cinnamon and habañero peppers add some heat to this seasonal sipper. At 6.4% ABV, Atomic Pumpkin Ale is a harvest of happiness for those who drink it.
Oktoberfest - Odell Brewing Co. (Fort Collins)

— Releasing today in the Tasting Room — PROSIT! Fall's on the way, but summer’s giving it a last hurrah. We’re bridging the seasons with a raised dunkelweizen. With gentle notes of caramel, anise, clove, nutmeg, and molasses, along with fruity esters that might suggest a delicious banana bread or gingerbread, this beer is fall in a glass, but its light effervescence and low ABV allows for some end-of-summer frolicking. The original recipe was created by homebrewer James Allen of Castle Rock and chosen by @evans.josh.michael at last fall's Liquid Poetry Slam to brew as a ProAm collaboration. With a tip of the maß to @zweibrewing for the yeast, a high five to the #liquidpoetssociety, and three cheers to James for agreeing to let us scale up his recipe, we bring you a full-flavored beer that’s also light and refreshing. Another beer, please!

The literal translation of the name of this brew is "another beer, please" - and after one, you'll probably be saying this too. If you're not quite ready to let go of summer yet, this beer was created to help bridge the gap between seasons, with its full flavor but also light and refreshing taste. You'll get hints of fall with the caramel, clove, nutmeg and molasses, but can still savor what's left of summer with the notes of fruity banana. It's an easy drink at 4.5% ABV.
