The pool of 75 applicants for the job of Loveland Police Chief has been narrowed to six finalists who will visit the City this week for interviews and presentations. The group includes three Colorado law enforcement administrators, a woman, and a longtime Loveland Police Department veteran. Here are the candidates:

  • Eric Buske, Chief of Police, Bryan, Texas.
  • John Manago, Captain, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Kathryn McAlpine, Assistant Chief of Police, Tacoma, Wash.
  • Rob McGregor, Investigations Commander, Aurora Police Department
  • Lazaro Perez, Program Manager, Suburban Law Enforcement Academy, Glen Ellen, Ill.
  • Robert Ticer, Chief of Police, Avon.

Your Chance to Meet Candidates

The six candidates will travel to Loveland this week for a series of interviews and meetings. The public can meet them and hear presentations from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Police and Courts Building, 810 E. 10th St. Each candidate’s 10-minute presentation will be followed by a question and answer session, and anyone attending is encouraged to submit their written evaluations.

The finalists face a full day of interviews Friday, April 1, with five separate panels. The final decision on hiring the new chief rests with City Manager Bill Cahill.
