This is sad news for those of us who really love going to see the planes.I have been to five airshows in the past 6 years and I was planning on heading down to the Denver metro area again this year to check out the planes... But plans have been changed for all of us looking forward to the airshows in 2016. Both City of Aurora and Metropolitan Airport have confirmed that the 2016 Rocky Mountain Airshows, at both locations, have been cancelled this year. According to the Rocky Mountain Airport "Rocky Mountain Aviation defaulted on their agreement". The City of Aurora did not give reason to why, however, they did confirm the airshow has been cancelled.

The Blue Angels were scheduled to be at the show. "Because the Blue Angels participation in the Rocky Mountain Air Show was the foundation for Denver Navy Week, that event has also been cancelled" the Navy Office of Community Outreach said in a statement sent to Denver7.

The blue Angels will now be headed to the Capital City Air Show in Sacramento, California instead of the Rocky Mountain Airshow. I am kind of bummed... I was really looking forward to seeing the Blue Angels again this year.
