Ready To Shred? Loveland Ski Area To Open This Weekend

Yes, it's finally ski season in Colorado - and I just know you're ready to shred some gnar.

Ski season officially kicked off in Colorado earlier this month with the openings of two Colorado ski areas:

• Wolf Creek Ski Area in Pagosa Springs - opened to the public on Saturday, Oct. 16
• Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin) Ski Area in Dillon - opened to the public on Sunday, Oct. 17

And now, another popular ski area will be opening for the 2021-2022 season just before the start of the new month.

Arapahoe Basin's top competitor, Loveland Ski Area will officially open this weekend - Saturday, Oct. 30 - as per an announcement made on the Loveland Ski Area Twitter page on Thursday (Oct. 28).

According to additional information posted to the ski area's Twitter page on Thursday, the Chet’s Dream lift will start running at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, offering skiers one top-to-bottom run.

The trails that will be open to skiers this weekend — Catwalk, Mambo, and Home Run — cover a mile in length and 1,000 vertical feet. Crews will continue to make snow on other runs off the lift in hopes of opening more trails soon, according to ski area officials.

After opening day, Loveland Ski Area will remain open seven days a week during the 2021-2022 ski season until closing day in May 2022. Ski lifts run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

As far as pricing is concerned, early season lift tickets cost $85 for adults and $35 for children ages 6 to 14.

In addition, Loveland Ski Area will require all visitors to wear a mask inside all facilities for the entire season.
