Prepare Your Child for School at the Be Ready Fair
Attending a new school can be daunting — especially if you've never been to one before.
That's why Larimer County developed Be Ready, a county-wide initiative designed to support children and families to ensure that all children will be successful in school.
At Be Ready Fairs, attendees can access educational resources and participate in family-friendly activities that help parents create a solid foundation for their child's future.
"There's just so much happening in the brain and in the body as kids grow up and learn," said Lise Harwell, coordinator of the Be Ready Fairs and the Education & Enrichment Director at The Matthew's House, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "We think that the information is just good for all parents to help their kids develop the best that they can, and then they're even more ready to start school and be on track with their academic work."
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year's fairs will be done via drive-thru. Regardless, guests will still be able to enjoy take-home activities, to-go food, early childhood development information and more from a safe distance.
You can register for the fairs, which cater to children from birth to eight years old, online here. The schedule is as follows:
- Loveland - Saturday, April 24, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Zion Lutheran Church (815 E. 16th St.)
- Fort Collins - Saturday, May 1, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- First Presbyterian Church (531 S. College Ave.)
- Estes Park - Thursday, May 6, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
- Estes Park Elementary School (1505 Brodie Ave.)
"It's just fun to see families coming in together and having a good time together," said Harwell. "We hope you come out and join us at the fairs!"
