Poudre School District Principal Placed on Administrative Leave
Principal Joe Horky of Bacon Elementary School is on paid administrative leave with no plans to return as of yet.
According to The Coloradoan, Horky's leave is related to an "ongoing personnel issue."
Poudre School District (PSD) would not share anymore details, or comment on whether or not his leave had anything to do with student safety.
"We understand you may want to support Mr. Horky," said PSD's Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools Todd Lambert in an email to parents. "We believe the best way you could do so is to not contact him while he is away. This boundary allows the school to focus on taking care of our students."
The school's assistant principal Cale Whicker will take Horky's place for the time being.
Horky has been the principal of Bacon Elementary School since 2009.
