Northern Colorado schools made the tough call to end the 2019-2020 school year with remote learning. Unfortunately, safety concerns are still at the forefront of our education system as COVID-19 persists. While remote learning is not ideal, it is a practical solution to the ongoing pandemic we have been navigating since January, though it does present its own fair share of problems.

One of these issues includes student lunches. Luckily, Poudre School District is ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals despite COVID-19. For many students, school breakfasts and lunches are the best meals they get all day. With ongoing school closures, educators have raised reasonable concerns about student nutrition.

Now, PSD Child Nutrition and the Transportation Departments have teamed up to make sure meals are available to students at several locations across the district while PSD is remote learning through Oct. 16.

According to the PSD website, in order to receive meals, parents can complete an application for what is being called P-EBT.

P-EBT provides qualified families with free or reduced-price school meals. You can receive up to $279 per eligible child to stretch your food budget.

Parents and guardians can log into ParentVue and go to 'Student Information' to find their student's SASID or call Child Nutrition at 970-490-3557 in order to apply.
