Caught this story on 9news and thought it worthy of passing along to you, and as a reminder to me too!!

9news writes;

You may have done it or at least been tempted to: On a cold and snowy day, you start your car and go back inside. Police are telling you not to, no matter what, unless you want your car stolen.

Police sent out a reminder on Thursday that people should not become "puffers."

A puffer is when a person leaves their vehicle running unattended.

The Metro Auto Theft Task Force say those exhaust vapors and an empty driver's seat are an invitation to a car thief.

Every year, hundreds of people are victimized when thieves take their cars while they are left running. Police say these stolen cars are often used to commit other crimes.

Another important fact: It is still a violation of state statutes to lock the doors of a car and leave it running.
