Police and CPW Investigating Two Cases of Bear Poaching In Estes Park
The Estes Park Police Department and Colorado Parks and Wildlife are working together to investigate the poaching of two black bears in Estes Park.
Police say that one of the bears was found dead on August 23, and the other was discovered on August 24 – both in the area of Aspen Avenue, Ponderosa Drive and Morgan Street in Estes Park. Due to their close proximity, authorities believe the deaths are related. A $1000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the apprehension of the responsible parties through the Operation Game Thief at 1-877-265-6648. Anyone with tips regarding this sad situation can also call the local tip line at 970-577-3838, or provide information at the community meeting taking place at 6 p.m. on August 24 at the Estes Park Museum.
