Place Your Bid on Colorado Rockies Themed License Plates This Week
If you're a mega Colorado Rockies fan, don't strike out on this opportunity. Like the weed-themed license plates that were auctioned off earlier this year, Coloradans can now have one of ten special baseball vanity plates for their ride.
For the first time in over 20 years, Denver is getting ready to roll out the purple carpet for the 91st annual MLB All-Star Game. The event is set to be held in the Mile High City at (a now full capacity) Coors Field on Tuesday, July 13. To honor the event, the State of Colorado is selling the Rockies baseball license plates to benefit the Disability Funding Committee. The bidding sale will wrap at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, following the MLB All-Star Game.
The ten Colorado Rockies plates up for auction read: ASTAR, BBPLAYR, BLLPARK, COORS, COROCKY, DIAMND, DUGOUT, GOROCKS, HOMRUN and VOTE. Bidding starts at $250, and you can register here.
In April, the State and the Disability Funding Committee auctioned off marijuana-themed license plates, and they sold for thousands... because Colorado. 'ISIT420' sold for over $6,600 and had 69 bids. We didn't make that up. 'TEGRITY' was the next highest, and sold for nearly $5,000 after being bid on by 151 people. The lowest-selling plate was 'STASH,' which after getting 91 bids, sold for almost $1,900.
