There's a new series on Showtime with Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney, 'American Rust.' The show recently had a wedding scene that used a Loveland woman's work.

How neat to find out that someone I went to high school with had one of her pieces featured on TV. This is a good show, too; not some reality show about weddings, trust me.

'American Rust' on Showtime, is drama/mystery set in Pennsylvania, a show that Showtime says is about:

Good people making bad decisions

It's one of my new favorite shows, as it features Jeff Daniels as the Chief of Police of the town, and he has a budding relationship with the mother (Maura Tierney) of a young man caught up in a murder. Good stuff.

I found out that an old high school friend, who has had interesting careers, currently (as part of several projects) makes wedding cake toppers. One of which was featured on 'American Rust' in episode #2.

It's on the grooms cake for the episode. I saw it before I knew that my friend created it. I thought, 'That's awesome, so Buell (the town.)'

I asked my friend how it all came about:

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS?

I’ve had my own small business making cake toppers and wedding-related items since 2006.

HOW DID 'THE HUNT IS OVER' END UP ON THE SHOW?

One of the head prop/crew members on the series saw my cake topper online, and he said it was perfect for their storyline.

He actually purchased three of them… because things happen during filming.

He was very gracious with my efforts, and told me which episode the cake topper would appear in.

Go, Loveland!

Speaking of Weddings: Check Out a Bride Walk Down the Aisle with Her Dogs

In an effort to make her Colorado wedding more personal, Stefanie Hutchinson decided to walk down the aisle with the adoptable animals of Big Bones Canine Rescue.
