New Loveland Natural Area Will Open to the Public on May 1
Northern Coloradans will have a new place to explore next week.
The Prairie Ridge Natural Area (6400 N. Wilson Ave.) will be open to the public starting on Friday, May 1.
Officials will celebrate the opening with a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony, which will showcase footage of the new area, on the City of Loveland website.
According to a press release from the city, the new open space is a 3.3-mile recreation trail system that connects the Prairie Ridge and Coyote Ridge natural areas, as well as Rimrock Trail and Open Space.
The area will offer two different trails to allow for hiking, wildlife watching, trail running, mountain biking, and some horseback riding.
A 36-vehicle parking lot and a restroom will also be available.
Keep in mind that no dogs are allowed in the space in order to protect natural resources, but it will be open to humans from sunrise to sunset.
