A very unique festival spotlighting mural paintings and virtual reality will be coming to Colorado this September.

The Colorado Mural Festival

The mural festival is the brainchild of artist and art enthusiast A.L. Grimm and will be taking place in Denver's RiNo district from September 22nd through the 26th, 2022.

The festival will be, appropriately, titled 'Denver Walls' and is based upon another festival that has taken place in prior years in Washington D.C., which is where A.L. or "Allie" once resided and gathered inspiration from.

How Many Murals and Artists Will Be at the Colorado Mural Festival?

According to Grimm, she is hoping to have as many as twelve artists participating in the festival with roughly 10 to 12 walls donning murals for the four-day festival. So far two walls that are to be featured in the festival have murals that are already completed including this one currently painted on the side of Denver's Mission Ballroom concert venue:

In addition to having a history with mural painting, Grimm also has an interest in virtual reality and NFT art. The artist and festival organizer had this to say about the festival's use of this futuristic medium:

We'll be integrating augmented reality into as many murals as we want; obviously, artists will get to decide whether they want to opt in or out to that. But I'll also be incorporating augmented reality without the murals. I really want to reimagine what street art means to be something beyond just walls.
