Every day in the a.m., Mollie Kendrick brings you a deep cut; a b-side; a song you've probably never heard on the radio before. But Mollie's out today so, you've got me.

I grew up calling these unknown tracks 'b-sides,' even though I don't think I ever listened to music on a format that had an 'a' or 'b' side. If you ask a real music snob, a b-side and a deep cut aren't the same thing but this is the iPod generation so what is that even anymore?

Anyway, I get to play a song that isn't a single on our station.

I was thinking about this during my (very early) morning commute today. I mean, I've got total pick of what I'm going to throw on here, and that's a lot of pressure. Then I figured, hey, remember one week ago today when Night Riots was here, and how I thoroughly enjoy all of their songs, yet only play 'Contagious' on the air?

Now seems like my moment to change that. Lesser-known is their 2013 album 'Young Lore,' which has some great stuff on it that I want to bring to light (even though it's not technically a b-side. I make up my own rules).

I can quote verbatim most Andrew McCarthy movies made prior to 1990, so you can bet I've seen Mannequin a time or two. Had John Cusack been cast instead, it probably would have looked a lot like this:

So, this morning's deep cut is going to give some '80s-teen-movie style adoration to Night Riots.
