Missing CO Woman: Sheriff Debunks Finding of Human Remains

Many believed they had found closure on Monday (September 28), when DailyMail.com reported that human remains had been found during the search for missing Colorado woman Suzanne Morphew.

According to the publication, cadaver dogs picked up the scent of remains on a lot of land owned by Barry Morphew, Suzanne's husband. The report said that the FBI would conduct a dig of the area.

However, the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) stated in a Facebook post that "there have been no remains found in the Suzanne Morphew case."

"There have been a handful of potential leads that have been pursued as a result of the volunteer search; however, nothing has been identified as related to Suzanne's disappearance," the post read. "Investigators will not comment on specific leads being investigated or other information connected with this case."

Andrew Moorman, Suzanne's brother, has been leading an independent search for his sister since September 24. Moorman said the team found evidence, but CCSO later said it is likely not related to the case.

Suzanne disappeared on Mother's Day after reportedly going for a bike ride and never coming home.
