The Geminid meteor shower is going to be putting on a pretty impressive nightly show this next week. They say this shower provides very impressively colored falling stars, which are actually meteorites.

According to Travel and Leisure the showers have begun, but "peak activity will occur on the evening of Dec. 13 into the morning of Dec. 14." As one of the biggest meteor showers of the year, there could be "up to 120 meteors per hour under optimal viewing conditions"

The air quality in Colorado and the darkening of the moon during this time should allow us to see quite the show. Peak time is around 2 a.m. each night, but meteors start falling around 9 p.m.

One Windsor resident, Chelsea Wisdom, shared her footage already. The meteor appears around the 5 second mark.
