A man has been charged with child abuse and various other charges after racing another vehicle on I-25.

According to a press release, the Weld County Sheriff's Office was notified of a 2015 Fort Mustang and a vehicle similar to a Kia Soul racing each other in the northbound lanes of I-25 at an excess of 120 miles per hour.

A deputy made contact with the Fort Mustang, and found it had 4 passengers - two of which were a 7-month-old in a forward-facing car seat and an unrestrained 5-year-old.

The driver, Jarrod Andrews, 26, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of child abuse, 4 counts of reckless endangerment, and multiple moving traffic violations including speed contest, failure to use child restraints, speeding (25-39 mph over speed limit), and speed exhibition.
