City officials will increase fluoride level in Loveland's water, matching those of Greeley and Fort Collins.

Loveland city officials have decided, based on local research and investigation, to increase the fluoride in the water. Levels will increase nearly 30 percent, matching fluoride levels already added by Fort Collins and Greeley, as recommended by the Center of Disease Control. The CDC recommends water fluoridation in municipal water supplies to decrease tooth decay and other dental problems.

If this report freaks you out a little, ( as it did me! ) check out today's Reporter Herald for more information. Or, if have the extra time and you want to get REALLY REALLY informed about it, you can check out the report of a year-long study about water fluoridation done by the city of Fort Collins in 2003. It's worth taking a look at.
