We try not to play favorites here, because we love everyone involved in our Northern Colorado music scene. But, when a band credits the Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and a little sprinkle of Grohl as their go-to mix tape artists... we're going to be enamored (and cover our studio in their stickers).

Brothers Jakob and Oliver Mueller, and their close friends, David Dugan and Jackson Lamperes, make up the four-piece synth-punk group, Slow Caves, based in Fort Collins, who stopped by our studio this week for LOCAL X.

The pre-interview involved a heated discussion regarding my Angles record by The Strokes, but not so heated that Jackson broke anything.

2015 was a huge year for Slow Caves, and with a NewWestFest, SXSW and CMJ under their belt, they're heading into 2̶0̶1̶2̶ 2016 with some big plans-- they even have some exciting announcements for this week (hear about it in the audio below).

They recently won Bandwagon Magazine's Battle of the Bands, so you'll see them gracing the cover next month, as well as hangin' around at upcoming shows. You know who is also going to be there? Me -- and my partners in crime, Madi and Mollie -- and you should be, too. You won't be disappointed. #ShamelessSlowCavesFanGirls #sickhuh?

If you missed Slow Caves on the air, you can hear the interview, their songs 'Amelia' and 'Dandelion Girl,' and an in-studio performance of 'Glares' here:

Part One: Feat. 'Saturns' and 'Dandelion Girl' by Slow Caves

Part Two: Feat. 'Amelia' and 'Glares' by Slow Caves
