I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. But I also scream for some good local music. Tomorrow night, you can have both.

Sure, I'm cool with frozen desserts and Tony Frank's beard, but I think I'm actually more excited about the music at the CSU Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 12.

The event, which will be hosted on the Colorado State University Campus, will have live music by Fort Collins' own Post Paradise and Slow Caves.

Post Paradise is a four-piece indie/alternative rock band with a badass cello player. The band says their sound 'echoes of nineties alternative, modern indie poeticism and classical music,' so you know I'm a fan. The band's roots are in Fort Collins, but they'll be hitting the road to play shows in Kansas and Missouri later this year.

Slow Caves, a Northern Colorado synth punk band who recently played SXSW, will also be creating the perfect summer soundtrack to eat ice cream to. Sometimes, I like to count how many Slow Caves stickers I can find in Fort Collins. Four.

Slow Caves and Post Paradise will be performing at Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest August 14-16.
