Today (September 20) is the soon-to-be-historical (but mostly just a punch line) #Area51Raid, which started as a joke on Facebook but escalated quickly. Larimer Humane Society is using the trending hashtag to encourage you to 'raid' the shelter today and bring home a new pet (aw). Other shelters across the nation are using the 'out of this world' idea; some of them even dressed up its adoptable animals as aliens.
