There's been a giant bombshell dropped in the NFL by a former coach in the league who has filed a lawsuit against a few teams including the Broncos with John Elway being named as one of the culprits.

Brian Flores, former head coach of the Miami Dolphins was fired recently and claims that his own former franchise was paying him to tank the 2019 season and fired him unjustly after this past season.

Flores also goes on the name the Denver Broncos, as well as the New York Giants and the Dolphins in the lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, Flores and his representatives allege Elway and team CEO Joe Ellis "showed up an hour late to the interview. They looked completely disheveled, and it was obvious that they had drinking heavily the night before.''

Brian Flores on ESPN on Thursday and had this to say...

John Elway, quiet for the first few days of the allegations, broke his silence and issued this statement yesterday via social media...

He's basically saying that the interview was a complete sham, that they were never serious about even thinking about hiring him and that they only conducted the interview to appease the "Rooney Rule", which is set up to require league teams to interview ethnic-minority candidates for head coaching and senior football operation jobs.

There is now only 1 remaining African-American head coach in the NFL (Mike Tomlin for the Pittsburgh Steelers)  The league, admittedly has some work to do on its diversity issue in terms of head coaches,

Here's what the NFL and the New York Giants had to say about the allegations...

And here's what other NFL executives and former players are saying about the lawsuit and Brian Flores' claims,
