The Colorado Ice Indoor Football team had two consecutive home games over the last couple weeks, and did exactly what they were supposed to do... Win them both! Northern Colorado’s pro football team is now 8-3 and in second place in their conference in large part due to the team's stellar defense. Another defensive guy was named the player of the game this past week, so we sat down to get to know a little more about defensive end Jason Jones.

If you follow football, you are probably wondering when Jason Jones left the NFL to come play for the Ice. Well, he didn't. Although, he has the same name, and plays the same position as the Detroit Lion's Jason Jones, this Jason Jones is just getting started with his football career.

Just because he doesn't have a lot of pro experience doesn't mean Jones is a nobody. He was a five year senior at Ole Miss where he won three major bowl games, and as a result of his off-the-field contributions won the Chucky Mullins Courage Award. You'll understand why he is won that award, and is one of this year's Ice teams nicest players in the video below.

Stayed tuned each week throughout the upcoming Ice season to get to know a new player each week. And don’t forget to join us at the Budweiser Events Center all Ice season. The Ice return home Saturday, June 7th for their regular season home finale against Green Bay. Tickets and details here.
