Actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars rocker Jared Leto brandished an eerily lifelike bust of his own head at Monday night's Met Gala (May 6), seeing as how this year's theme for the annual fundraising soirée was "Camp: Notes on Fashion," as Billboard reported. But does Leto's "decapitated" likeness bring to mind Rammstein singer Till Lindemann's severed head, shown onscreen in the recent "Deutschland" music video (NSFW) from the German industrial outfit? See images of Leto's detached dome below.

It appeared that the performer was graciously recycling his style notes from Gucci's Fall-Winter 2018 show in Milan, Italy, where Gucci designer and Met Gala host Alessandro Michele supplied runway models with copies of their own heads for a disembodied catwalk strut, as Elle noted at the time. At Monday's Met Gala, Leto — the actor who previously portrayed Batman nemesis the Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad, and may soon be reprising that role — did the same, all while wearing a bedazzled, red Gucci gown.

Relive Rammstein's "Deutschland" video after the photos.
