If you're a Colorado gardener, you might be familiar with the Japanese beetle: these little guys tend to eat plants and breed like bunnies, causing lots of frustration with local plant lovers.

The biggest areas with problems, according to The Denver Post, are Denver, Boulder and Pueblo, but the beetles are spreading. So how do you combat their destructive behavior?

Colorado State University's entomology department has a helpful fact sheet with management recommendations like setting Japanese Beetle traps (which you can buy at any store that sells gardening equipment), keeping your grass a little longer than usual, or using specific insecticides.
