Avuncular Bob’s Beerhouse Bids Farewell to Fort Collins Community

A beloved beerhouse that's been a part of the Fort Collins community for the last six years sadly shared that its doors will soon be closing for good.

Earlier this week, Avuncular Bob’s Beerhouse announced via social media that December will be their last month in business.

The taphouse joined Fort Collins' thriving beer scene in January 2018. It was named for two of the owners’ real-life Uncle Bob (Adams), whose face appears on the company's logo. Additionally, avuncular translates to “kindly, friendly uncle" in Latin. The word is meant to encapsulate that relationship dynamic; a best friend and family member all wrapped up into one.

Since opening in 2018, the College Avenue establishment has become a favorite place for locals to enjoy craft beer and creative eats, in a casual, laid-back setting. The pub makes all of its delicious meals fresh from scratch and offers 20 rotating taps of beers. The menu features appetizers, sandwiches, soups, and charcuterie boards.

Upon hearing the news, many people were shocked, sharing heartfelt comments on Avuncular Bob's Facebook page. Customers noted how much they have appreciated spending time at the neighborhood bar over the years. Some out-of-towners even chimed in, saying AB's was their go-to stop when visiting Fort Collins.

Patrons can still visit Avuncular Bob's Fort Collins location at 830 S. College Avenue through the end of December 2023. All of the usual events, including karaoke and drag bingo, will continue to take place throughout the beerhouse's final weeks in business. A farewell blowout party is also set to happen, but the date has yet to be announced.

Although this chapter of the local business is coming to a close, its owners are open to exploring investment or purchase opportunities that could potentially keep Avuncular Bob's alive.

The pub's sister location, Avuncular Bob’s T Bar Inn, in Wellington, Colorado location will continue to remain open to customers.
