The 102nd Windsor Harvest Festival kicks off this weekend, and it'll all be capped off by their popular Labor Day Parade this Monday. The parade, however, will not be returning down Main Street like last year.

Windsor Harvest Festival Parade Route Change

Last year, for the very first time, the Labor Day Windsor Harvest Festival Parade was moved from its traditional route down Walnut Street, to Main Street, and from our perspective, was the biggest Windsor Harvest Festival Parade ever.

The decision to move the parade was a joint effort between the city of Windsor and the Windsor Harvest Festival Board. While on paper, and even in person, it appeared to be a hit, the town and the Windsor Harvest Festival Board decided it was best to move the popular parade back to its original route for 2024.

When And Where Is the Windsor Harvest Festival Parade?

The parade will begin at 9 am on Monday, Sept. 2nd, and will run until all participants have completed the route, which is roughly around 10 am. The parade will return to its original route, beginning at 1st and Walnut Street, turning south onto 7th Street., and ending at Eastman Park Drive.

One of the reasons to move the parade back is money. To close down Main Street ended up costing about $88,000, eight times the amount of the cost to run down Walnut and 7th, which is closer to about $10,000. We love the decision to move it back, and invest that money elsewhere in the city!

The Windsor Harvest Festival is a free event that celebrates the end of summer with numerous events, live music & entertainment, activities, local & national vendors to shop and eat at, and so much more.

This year’s festival runs this Saturday, August 31st from 6 to 9 pm at Boardwalk Park, through Sunday, September 1st, and Monday, September 2nd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Main Park. Get the full list of events, and we'll see you this weekend in Windsor!
