Watch: Snow Starts Falling in Colorado and Excited Patrol Pup Can’t Get Enough
In the summer of 2023, Arapahoe Basin brought on a new patrol pup, Olive. The black Labrador fits right into the Summit County vibe, especially when it comes to snow.
While Olive was able to see snow at Arapahoe when she arrived, seeing the first snow to hit the mountain for 2023, brought out a lot of excitement. It makes you wish you could be as excited.
Arapahoe Basin, below Loveland Pass, has been a Colorado skiing destination since 1946. From having just one rope tow back then, to decades later, being one of Colorado's and the nation's top destinations.
In 2019, Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin) got out of participating in the very popular EPIC Pass, because the crowds were just too much for the smaller resort. Today, the resort is popular throughout the year, with mountain biking and disc golf being a couple of activities.
As fall started settling in on Colorado in October of 2023, Arapahoe Basin started to get its first snow of the season, and their new patrol pup was all about it.

Olive jumps out there to get her "zoomies" on in the, what you might call "dusting," that A-Basin received. Olive didn't care about "how much" snow, just that it had arrived.
She gets out there, takes a few laps, gets her head down in the snow, even gets a littel snack of the grass that's still around on the ground.
We’re all stoked for snow, but not as stoked as patrol pup Olive.
