South of Glenwood Springs and north of Aspen lies Snowmass Village. For the fall of 2023, it will be the place to be for some of the most beautiful hot air balloons.

Snowmass Ski Resort dates back to its opening in 1967. In 1975, they began one of Colorado's most anticipated hot air balloon events, and it's back on for its 48th year. This area of Pitkin County in Colorado is wonderful, especially in the fall.

It can be pricey to ski at Snowmass, as it is at Aspen, but how about going for a free event? Load up the car, the kids, and the taste for a road-tripping adventure to Snowmass' annual hot air balloon festival.

The event will have over 30 fun and gorgeous hot air balloons lifting off each morning and other events throughout the three-day festival.

The trees will look great and the hot air balloons will look majestic as they take to the sky each morning. You should make sure that you have plenty of storage on your device for all the photos that you'll be taking.

48 years is a long time for Snowmass to be putting on this event; the oldest hot air balloon festival in the world (which happens in Ireland) is only four years older.
