Smelling good is something that is always top of mind for most people. I will admit, I do kind of have a bit of a cologne addiction. I love trying different scents. Those that I really like, I will purchase, sparingly, as nice fragrances are not cheap.

It appears that some people took it upon themselves to smell really good and they may not have had money. That little detail wasn't going to stop them from getting their colognes and perfumes from a couple of Northern Colorado stores as they decided to steal more than $6,000 worth of fragrances.

The Johnstown Police Department arrested four subjects in relation to an organized retail theft operation that has been working throughout Colorado. The four suspects were apprehended with 58 bottles of cologne and perfume in the vehicle from thefts that occurred at the Johnstown and Fort Collins Ulta stores.

Officers handling the arrest found documentation linking these suspects to a group of retail thieves that have been operating along the Front Range from Pueblo to Fort Collins. The four suspects were booked into Larimer County Jail and are facing felony-level theft charges.

Our officers work diligently with our community and with our retailers to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone to visit. By working collaboratively with our neighboring agencies to identify organized retail theft and by responding quickly to calls for service from our community we are able to disrupt these groups that are targeting our retailers. Retail theft is not a victimless or merely a nuisance crime and I am proud of our officer's work to serve the citizens of our town,

Said Lieutenant Kyle Williams of the Johnstown Police Department.
