Larimer County has submitted its waiver to reopen ahead of the state's plan, but what does that mean for face coverings in Fort Collins?

As of right now, Fort Collins has a mandate for its citizens to wear a mask in public. If Larimer County eases its restrictions, the city says you'll still have to wear your mask even if businesses open up.

According to the Coloradoan, Fort Collins' face mask requirement will last through May 30 and has the possibility of being extended. And while individuals will still need to mask up, the county may allow businesses to opt out of the face mask requirement "if they can show they're following a checklist that promotes social distancing."

If you are caught without a mask in Fort Collins, your penalty could be a fine up to $3,000. Learn more about mask use in Northern Colorado right here.
